Sexual health

Direct, judgment-free care for desire and function, for women and men both.

A pillar, not a postscript.

Sexual health responds to hormones, sleep, medications, blood vessels, nerves, stress, and the state of a relationship — which is to say it deserves the same careful workup as anything else that matters. What it usually gets instead is ninety seconds at the end of a visit booked for something else, if it comes up at all. At Peri it is one of the three pillars of the practice: a visit that is about this, long enough to hear when it changed, what changed around the same time, what's been tried, and what a good outcome would actually look like for you.

For women and for men.

Not a men's clinic with a side door. For women, that means treating low desire, arousal changes, discomfort, and the sexual side of perimenopause and menopause as clinical questions rather than stress to wait out. For men, it means treating erectile and desire changes as data worth investigating — often an early prompt to look at the bigger hormonal and metabolic picture — rather than something to wave off or reflexively prescribe past.

A urologist's home ground.

Dr. Nelson is a board-certified urologist with 28 years of practice in the specialty that has handled sexual medicine most directly. That matters twice over. Comfort: there is nothing you can bring into this room that he hasn't heard, worked up, and treated many times before. And rigor: sexual symptoms are often the visible edge of something measurable — hormonal, vascular, metabolic, or medication-related — and a physician trained to look for those causes asks different questions and orders different labs.

Hormones are usually part of it.

Sexual health and hormone health interlock tightly enough that treating them in separate offices is often the reason nothing improves. Weight, sleep, and common medications pull on the same threads. Because hormone care, metabolic care, and sexual health live under one roof here, the workup doesn't stop at the first plausible answer: labs are read in context, one physician sees the whole picture, and the plan is revisited on follow-up rather than handed over and forgotten.
