“Peri is about focusing on the part of medicine that first drew me to it: knowing my patients, working with them directly and seeing their lives change.”

Dr. Roscoe Nelson.

Meet Dr. Roscoe Nelson

Board-certified urologist with more than 30 years of experience and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Additional training in andrology, hormones and sexual medicine, and a long-standing interest in both men’s and women’s hormones and healthy aging. He is also Chief Medical Officer of Options Wellness.

After about twenty-six years in Arizona he moved to Utah in 2024 to be closer to his children and grandchildren. At Peri he reviews your labs with you, helps you understand what they mean, and makes a plan with you to get you where you want to be.

Why a urologist opened a hormone practice

Already one of Dr. Nelson’s patients, or hoping to meet him before we open? He’s taking a small number of video consults in the meantime.

Hormone care takes months, not one visit.

Your first dose is where we begin. We watch how you feel and what your labs show, and adjust the plan with you as things change.

  1. A sofa, a walnut coffee table and a velvet armchair in a sunlit room with olive-green paneling.

    A long first visit

Long enough to hear the whole story: symptoms, history, what has already been tried, and the questions you bring with you.

  2. A woman on a sofa reading her lab results, with Dr. Nelson across the coffee table.

    Labs read together

A panel chosen based on the initial conversation, explained line by line and repeated on a schedule that makes sense for your treatment.

  3. Dr. Nelson in an armchair, listening to a patient across a coffee table.

The same team at every adjustment

Hormones do not hold still. When a dose, a route or the plan itself needs to change, you work with the same small, cohesive team that already knows your chart.

How the membership works

What patients say...

Real patient reviews of Dr. Nelson from his urology practice, via Zocdoc, Google, and RateMDs. Individual results vary.

I was suffering with menopausal symptoms, hot flashes, headaches and weight gain. I was miserable! Dr. Nelson checked my hormone levels and recommended hormone pellets… I took his advice and I have my life back! None of my other doctors could help me, they just expected me to deal with it.
Karen P. · RateMDs
He seems to know more about hormones than my endocrinologist.
B. Heyer · Google
Doctor Nelson clearly communicated the steps of the procedure, answered questions, and didn't make the appointment feel like a cattle call. One of the best doctor experiences I've had.
Steve H. · Zocdoc
More knowledgeable and more interested in solving my problem than my other 2 urologists.
Jon W. · Zocdoc
Very thorough and professional! Asked a lot of questions and LISTENED.
Robert S. · Zocdoc
Very professional, informative, and unhurried manner.
Lisa E. · Zocdoc
